How To Open docx Files ?
The .docx file format in its new Microsoft Office 2007 and Word 2007 applications and it replace the older used doc format. Many users are still working with older versions of Word and it is not supported in their older application.
Many users often ask how they would open a docx file to be able to read and edit it.
Older versions MS Word as Office XP do not support the docx format because it was not known when MS Office XP were developed and sold. A simple way to read docx and xlsx files in older applications (Office XP) would be to install the Microsoft Compatibility Pack (you can download it : here) which adds support for the new file formats otherwise you can use the Open XML Translator for Open Office to be able to read and edit docx files with Open Office.
